TR-YÖS is the central admission exam for international students at Turkish public universities. We prepare you for it live, online, in English, Arabic or Russian — with monthly mock exams that mirror the real paper.
What TR-YÖS is and when it runs
- Run centrally by ÖSYM twice a year; results are valid for two years.
- 80 questions in 100 minutes: 40 reasoning and 40 mathematics, multiple choice.
- Questions in Turkish with translations into English, Arabic, Russian, German and French.
- TR-YÖS/1 2026 was held on 12 April; TR-YÖS/2 on 11 October. The 2027 application window opens in January.
- Fees are tiered by country: 1,100 to 3,500 TL for the 2026 sittings (ÖSYM guide).
- More than 130 public universities accept TR-YÖS; most foundation universities admit on your diploma alone.

ÖSYM converts your raw score to a standard score; each university sets its own threshold per programme. Results are valid for two years and accepted by more than 130 public universities.

Common questions
Do I need TR-YÖS for a foundation (private) university?
Usually not. Most foundation universities admit international students on their high-school diploma. TR-YÖS matters for public universities, which are far cheaper — that is why we recommend it to most families.
Can I sit the exam in my own country?
TR-YÖS is held in exam centres in more than 50 countries. We confirm the nearest centre for you during the consultation.
What score do I need?
It depends on the university and programme. We publish last year's thresholds for your shortlist in your written plan.
